Authors and Internet Marketing + Links

by Joel Friedlander on July 6, 2015 1 Comment

Self-publishing authors—particularly writers of nonfiction—have a lot to gain by studying marketing, and today for most authors, that means internet marketing.

From learning how to Tweet to product launches, subscriptions sites, training courses, workshops and all the other forms in which we can present our content, there’s a lot to learn about how to put all the pieces together.

As most of you know, I’ve been studying internet marketing for several years, and continue to try to learn all I can and get better. To me, better marketing means reaching more writhers with my message of how to create better books.

I believe strongly in my mission to enable authors publish the best books they can. The more people I can communicate my message to, the more authors I can help reach their own publishing goals.

So if I’m going to be marketing ideas, products, services, and educational events, doesn’t it make sense to do it better?

Today I’m on the road and will spend the week at a marketing intensive. I’m going to be looking for ways to adapt what I learn for authors looking to find an audience for their books.

I’ll let you know what I find out.

In the meantime, here are some articles from the past on this subject that will give you an idea if where I’ve been going:

Internet marketing is a way to establish long-term relationships directly with your readers, students, followers, and fans. It’s the language we need to learn now no matter what message we’re trying to send.

Why?
"Writers change the world one reader at a time. But you can't change the world with a book that's still on your hard drive or in a box under your bed. This blog exists to help you get that book into people's hands."
