Testimonials
Designing and producing beautiful books that work for their authors and publishers is pretty rewarding. I know many of these books will outlive us, and that’s a pretty big reward as well. But it’s always nice when we get positive feedback from the people who matter the most to us—our clients. Here are some recent comments we’ve received.
In the 1990s I had the privilege to work with Bill Levy, an experienced non-fiction author, in designing and coordinating the launch of his novel, Knock-Off. Bill is now bringing his book back into print with print on demand and Kindle technology.
“As an author of nine published books, I have been working with Joel Friedlander for almost 15 years, first in traditional print publishing and now in the exciting world of electronic and on-demand publishing, which he has quickly mastered. Joel is a real pro in the business and makes the entire electronic process very simple. For my money, there is no one better.”

Recently I worked on Business Mensch by Noah Alper. I wrote about the book’s interior design and some of the pre-publication reviews it’s garnered. Here’s what Noah had to say:
“Joel was a pleasure to work with. He worked quickly, efficiently, and most of all, artistically, to produce an attractive book. We gave him short deadlines, and he met or was early on all of them. He was always available by phone for last minute changes or to help brainstorm on design details. He worked within our budget and his estimates were very accurate. He even worked on our cover design and improved it. We highly recommend him for any interior book design projects.”

Another client who was just terrific to work with was Hazel Wagner, a consultant who recently self-published her first book:
“I worked for more than two years to write Power Brainstorming. If any of you have also produced a labor of love like a book you will understand when I say it becomes your treasured child. When it comes time to entrust it to a book interior designer, it is important to pick someone who is not only excellent as to quality but someone you can trust. Joel Friedlander exceeded every expectation and hope I had for designing the interior of my book. Not only did he do a great job but he reassured me when I needed it most. I’ve never met him and I consider him a friend. Business agreements don’t always work out both successfully and amicably. It is to Joel’s credit that he knows how to make both happen.”

I look forward to working on your book. Let’s get started on more books that work!
