I expect something awesome from you, otherwise why are we taking the extraordinary time and trouble to publish our books?
Seth Godin says, “Finding success is all about taking action.
You can read all you want, but nothing will happen until you execute.”
Like you, I’ll be publishing books this year.
I keep asking myself, “Does this book contribute something you can’t find anywhere else? What could I add to make it better?”
When we publish we take lots of actions in the world, doing all the business of publishing, but it’s just as important to keep looking at the work, and how it could satisfy readers even better.
A book needs a reason to exist, and as far as we’re able, to reach its potential.
It takes an awesome person to do that, so give yourself credit before diving back into your current project.
That’s our job, and I think we go through it all because we aspire to put something lasting, something memorable—something awesome—into the world.
