Florence Osmund

After a long career in the corporate world, Florence Osmund retired to write novels. "I strive to write literary fiction and endeavor to craft stories that challenge readers to survey their own beliefs and values," Osmund states.

Now eight times self-published, Florence has a good store of knowledge about the industry. In an effort to help new and aspiring authors avoid the same mistakes she made along the way, she wrote How to Write, Publish, and Promote a Novel, released in July 2020. In it she shares her expertise on how to begin a writing project, writing techniques, working with editors, building an author platform, book promotion, and more—prerequisites for creating a credible, engaging, and marketable novel.

On her website/blog, Florence posts excerpts from her “How To” book in addition to related articles about the more dynamic side of the writing business—current events, industry changes, recent laws, and new marketing and promotion strategies.

Florence currently lives on a small, tranquil lake in northern Illinois where she enjoys the all the native wildlife who come for frequent visits while she continues to write literary fiction.

Why?
"Writers change the world one reader at a time. But you can't change the world with a book that's still on your hard drive or in a box under your bed. This blog exists to help you get that book into people's hands."
—Joel Friedlander
