Hard to believe that we’re nearly half way thru the lazy hazy days of summer, isn’t it? Why not celebrate the season by stretching out on a favorite lounge chair with a cool drink as you read through this week’s selection of articles?

And, be sure to check back here tomorrow for our latest edition of our e-Book Cover Design Awards. You won’t want to miss it!

Dan Wagstaff on The Casual Optimist
50 Books / 50 Covers Winners 2016
“I always look forward 50 Books | 50 Covers announcement. It feels like the industry standard. It’s the cover design list that really seems to matter to book designers in North America, and it’s the one I always compare my own list to.”

BLUEINK REVIEW on Bookbaby Blog
How to Promote a Young Adult Novel on Social Media
“When you’re ready to promote a Young Adult novel, these links and pages will get you connecting with online groups and forums likely to embrace your title.”

David Gaughran on Let’s Get Digital

Lysa Grant on Self-Publishing Review
Best Free Book Marketing Sites
“There are a number of BookBub-style newsletter services that allow for free submissions. These submissions aren’t guaranteed, and many offer a paid option to guarantee inclusion, but it’s still helpful if you really have no budget for book marketing, or you want to pad out your paid efforts with some other services.”

Melinda Clayton on Indies Unlimited
The Importance of Categories and Keywords for Your Books on KDP
“I hate keywords. “Use keywords,” they say, for your blog post, your KDP book, your website, your AMS ads. Figuring out which keywords to use is harder for me than writing the actual post/book/ad. But I’m learning.”
