This is a test.

I’m publishing this article today for the sole reason of testing our RSS feed. RSS (real simple syndication) is the way we distribute the articles that appear on the blog to subscribers and to social media sites.

(Did you know you can send your blog feed right to your Amazon Author page? You can!)

We’ve used Feedburner, a Google service, since 2009 for this purpose. Feedburner works reliably and automatically, most of the time.

After years of putting up with the occasional outages or glitches, and because Google long ago stopped supporting Feedburner, it has become very frustrating for subscribers. I’ve threatened often to dump Feedburner for another solution, and now that time has come.

We are currently using FeedPress, a robust paid service that will distribute the RSS feed from now on (assuming this test is successful, of course). There are other feed delivery systems, and some of you might be able to use mail services like Mail Chimp to do this, too.

In any event, thanks for your patience. I’ll be contacting a sampling of subscribers to find out if they are receiving the feed.

Back to work! (Or play, depending on what you were doing before.)

Not a subscriber? Hey, you don’t want to miss the practical advice we publish three times a week, do you? Click the button below to subscribe right now. (Every email you receive from me has an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom.)
