I just came back from a full day at the Fremont Area Writers Self-Publishing Conference. It was a great event, with speaker after speaker encouraging the authors in attendance to get involved with ebook publishing, social media, book promotion, blogging and all the other things we indie authors spend our time on.

Here in the blogs, there’s lots to get into including ways to research online with the help of others, Scrivener, what’s new in 2013 and what’s the same as always, things that change in social media, and taking your next steps on Twitter. Enjoy.

Author Tools: Help a Reporter (HARO)
“As a research tool, HARO has been invaluable. From my evil mountain hide-out, how else would I find sources who could tell me about Vienna, Austria? How else could I interview professional hockey players from the comfort of my lair?”

Scrivener: An Introduction to Novel Writing
“I wanted to write a post that would provide the “pre-user” a good starting point for comparing Scrivener to their current writing tool of choice, to help people decide if it in fact would benefit their workflow.”

The New World of Publishing: How To Get Started Selling Fiction in 2013
“The writers who follow my suggestions are following a path well-worn by generations of professional writers. All of us did it just slightly different in the details and time depending on our background, but we all walked that same basic road.”

Things Are Changing at Amazon and Facebook… So How Do You Cope?
“Thinking as a business person, some strategies on coping with these changes have come to mind.”

” In this article, you’ll learn a few new tricks to take your Twitter game to a whole new level. And you can do all your tweeting in less time than it takes to cook, eat, and clean the dishes.”

Self-Publishing Roadmap Registration Closing Tonight

We are just about finished with registering new participants in the Self-Publishing Roadmap online video training course. The response this time around has been by far the best, and the new Mentorship slots are almost full.

If you haven’t checked it out, here’s a link to the registration page that explains all the new options for getting into this world-class training:

But remember, it will shut down at midnight Pacific time.
