Today the third in a series of videos about the opportunities available to authors in self-publishing went live: The Self-Publishing Blueprint.

This video will help you move forward with your own publishing plans in 2 ways. It will:

  1. Give you an overview of the process as a book moves from a manuscript through the editorial, production, and marketing phases to come into existence, and
  2. Provide some preliminary information about The Self-Publishing Roadmap video training course that will be opening for registration next week

The Roadmap is an online training program designed to get authors up to speed and onto the market in a streamlined way. If you’ve been looking for a way to “put all the pieces together” you’re going to love it.

There have been a lot of questions from the videos so far, so I’m going to fire up my camera one more time and do a quick Q & A video to answer as many of them as I can.

That Q & A video will go live over the weekend, and registration for the Self-Publishing Roadmap will open immediately after that.

Every time I take a new group of authors through the course it reaffirms for me the reason that I originally committed the hundreds of hours it took to put it together.

When registration opens and you see just how much is in this course, I think you’ll see what I mean.

Until then, go over and have a look at this video. It’s going to open your eyes to how books really get made.

Here’s that link again: The Self-Publishing Blueprint

Editing for style and grammar is all well and good. I think you should have Aaron Shepard as a guest host. I need to know more about mysterious issues like HTML and the workings of Kindle Previewer.

The info graphic looks like it has a ton of good info nicely laid out, but the type is way too small… is there are more readable version available?

    Thanks

Hi Anne, the graphic is actually from the video linked to in the article. In the video, I walk through the entire process in some detail and the type is quite large.

Still new around here, and I’d never seen the blueprint laid out like that, but I loved it the moment I saw it, and it was very helpful. I’m incredibly visual, so it was nice to see it in a way that I could cross things out once I’ve accomplished it.

I love it when other people organize for me! Thanks Joel!

Katie, you might enjoy mind mapping if you like this blueprint. These days I mind map a lot of projects, and the ones for presentation, like this one, are especially fun.
