Well, after two rounds of voting we have a winner for the competition to design a new badge for the monthly eBook Cover Design Award winners.

The winning entry was by designer Derek Murphy with 55.4% of all votes cast in the final competition. Here’s his winning badge:

As is common with designers, I’ll be working with Derek to “tweak” this a bit and we’ll be using it for the first time on our next round of competitions.

As winner, Derek will receive a $100 Amazon gift card as well as a link to his site from the awards post. Congratulations, Derek!

Runners up

Our 2 runners up, winners of the first round of voting, will each receive a $25 Amazon gift card in recognition of their popular success:

Congratulations to Book and web designer DJ Rogers and designer and artist Lafcadio

Also earning thanks, as well as $10 Amazon gift cards, are all the other designers who entered the contest:

Amber Shah

Manoj Vijayan

Kit Foster

Sue Brettell

Thanks to all who entered, commented, and voted.

Is there a corresponding gold star badge in the works?

What Tracy said. Once presented, it was the clear winner. Nice to see the voters agreed.

Kudos to all designers for putting their designs out there for us to judge and vote on. :-)

That is a really good looking badge! They were all good, so that was a tough competition. I really like the color palette on the winner, it goes great with the site. It is really eye catching.
