As you have probably noticed by now, I’ve taken the day off today.

The Friday following Thanksgiving—now known throughout the land as Black Friday—is always a strange day, mostly devoted to a masssive push to get buyers inside big retail stores to spend as much money as possible.

Many businesses are closed, giving their employees a four-day weekend. But others are open, operating with a small staff who often spend half the day figuring out just how early they can get out of the office.

The cleanup from our big dinner yesterday is done, and the fridge is packed so full of food it looks like a plastic container storage facility.

The braised turkey was a big hit and a good time was had by all.

My headset quit the other day, so I’ll probably put the family in the car and brave the crowds at Best Buy later in the day to get a replacement.

But here’s the “Plus 1.” I’m not actually lying around watching television or playing video games today.

Nope, you know better than that.

I’m working hard on getting ready for a very special offer I’ll be making my subscribers tomorrow.

They’ll be receiving a note from me about three pretty amazing videos I’ll be releasing next week, leading up to a new registration period for the Self-Publishing Roadmap.

But this time, I’ve got three different ways they will be able to get this “best of class” online training in how publishing works.

Yes, I got together with the Book Designer team and created a way that people who can’t afford the full Roadmap experience can still get the training.

And also a way that people who want more—more access, more counseling, more of my involvement in their projects—can get that too.

I’m really excited about this, because it means I’ll be able to help even more writers make the leap to become published authors.

Along the way I’ll be telling them about some of the first “graduates” of this program and the books they’re publishing. It’s great stuff.

But here’s the problem: if you’re not on my list, you’ll never hear about it. You won’t get the emails about the videos, or the new offers that I’ve created.

So if you want to find out about what’s going on, if you want to do more with your publishing plans in 2013, get on the list.

Have a great weekend, and check back Sunday for this month’s edition of our blog carnival, the Carnival of the Indies.

Happy shopping!
